April 16, 2008
Opening Day at White Pines
Join us for a marshmallow roast at the cozy fireplace. It’s a fun place to share what we did during the fall and winter.
April 18-20 Opening Weekend, Fishing Season Begins
Fishing season begins and the pond is stocked. Our fishing derby is Saturday at 7am and we’ll have the coffee and cocoa ready! Crafts, bocce ball, egg toss and potluck social on Saturday. Sign up and bring a family sized dish for all to share. Saturday night join us in the café with Kool Kats karaoke fun plus our opening hot dog roast!
April 25-27 Movie and Game Mania Weekend (bingo begins)
Friday night starts our first bingo game and bus trip of the season. Bingo in the café, bus trip to the Cinema. Wake up Saturday morning and hop up to the café as the Rec. girls cook a great breakfast for you. Great breakfast, great price. It will definitely be an entertaining treat. Crafts, games, movies at the Rec. trailer, Lego fun and bingo Saturday night.
May 2-4 Ninth Annual Birthday Bash Weekend (Christmas Theme Auction Trees on Display (Read more!) Nascar too!
Happy birthday to everyone this weekend. It’s all our birthdays and what better way than to celebrate them together at camp. Two nights of karaoke with Kool Kats, cake, games, sports, egg toss, water balloon volley ball, bingo for adults & kids, hayrides, flashlight candy hunt, birthday scavenger hunt and best of all our fantastic birthday cardboard boat race. What a blast! Don’t forget to put your silent auction price on the Theme Christmas Trees; which are on display in the Café. Auction deadline is Saturday, July 19th. Auction benefits the CT. Make a Wish Foundation. Nascar Race Party Sat. May 3rd, Richmond.
May 9-11 Mother’s Day & Tag Sale Weekend
Bring your goods to sell and set up your tag sale at your site. Don’t worry about rain; we have a pavilion for those just-in-case weather changes. Like Antiques? Sign up for our bus trip on Saturday morning to visit some of our area antique shops. Bingo fun for mom on Friday and Saturday and bingo for children as well. Family craft, mom & family scavenger hunt and mom’s fried dough special. Philomena’s fried dough is sure to make you happy and moms get to eat free when accompanied by family. See you here!
May 16-18 6th Annual RC Weekend, part 1
Get your engines ready for the races. Bring your cars, boats, airplanes etc. and join us at our RC track. Scheduled races, RC fun during the day and RC Race under the lights too! Festival of fun on the front field with games, tie dye (bring something light to dye), sack races, kick ball and more. Sign up for the Pot luck Social at 4pm on Saturday too. Bring a family sized dish for all to share. Karaoke Saturday night, limbo and the famous chicken dance!
May 23-26 Memorial Day Weekend
Wow, three days of fun! Activities, water games, entertainment and more. Bingo, horseshoes, kickball, basketball, water balloon volley ball, creative stepping stone craft, pool fun, pet show (bring your pet and show him/her off, LOTSA PASTA LUNCH 11:30am-1pm (variety of pasta $), funtastic pudding contest, Musical breakfast special Sunday morning 8-10am by the Rec. Dept. The Chips Program (Safety for children, learning safety, bike safety and more). Friday entertainment karaoke, Kool Kats, Saturday: The Chaparrals, and Sunday DJ, California Sound . Sunday, May 25th, Nascar Race Party, Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
May 30-June 1 Bingo Mania Weekend
Bingo day and night. Bingo, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Adult bingo, kid’s bingo, starlight bingo, crafts, hayrides, games, bonfires and more. Get your dobbers ready!
June 6-8 Country Bandana Weekend
Chili contest, cornbread contest, bobbing for apples, crafts, bingo, hayrides, tug of spaghetti wars, ice races and bandana bonanza. We’re even gonna tie dye bandanas and we’ll supply the material. Saturday night kick up your boots to the music of the Chaparrals. Hey, by the way partner, join in on the craziest country hat in camp. Judged Saturday night at the dance.
June 13 & 15 Father’s Day - Karaoke - Remote Control Vehicle Weekend (part 2)
Fishing derby,(pond is stocked), Karaoke by Kool Kats, crafts, volleyball game with Dads, kids and Mr. B, Cannonball contest and lot’s more. Bring your RC cars for some great race fun. Gary has the track and races all ready for you as well as the fantastic "under the lites" race. Fried dough lunch on Saturday, dads eat free when accompanied by family. Join in on the 1930’s hot dog contest. It’s a blast! Saturday is Flag Day, let’s all make a flag together. Fun, fun!!
June 20-22 Disney Character Fun Weekend at White Pines
Who’s your favorite character? Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Mrs. Potts and more will be here for lots of fun. Bring your Disney characters and join in on the Disney parade, crafts, and games, mazes to amaze us, lego table fun, bocce ball, bingo and more. Join DJ, California Sound at the pool on Saturday and back for more Saturday night. Face painting and costume contest. Create your costume or bring one and join in on the fun. Oh yes, tea cup races and character lollypop hayrides.
June 27-29 Bingo, Karaoke, Lotsa’ Pasta Craze and 4th Annual American Camper Idol Show Weekend.
We’re havin a party and everyone is invited. Bingo Saturday during the day, starlight Saturday night. And a fun Sunday night bingo. Lotsa’ pasta luncheon on Saturday, who wants to be a Lego craft, Lego parade, Lego table fun, checker tournament, karaoke by Kool Kats on Friday night and our 4th Annual American Campers Idol Show on Saturday evening into the night. Hayride fun and more. It’s a fun time at White Pines.
June 30 –July 3 Fourth of July Vacation Week
Your vacation is all planned for you this week at White Pines. Monday: Crafts, Bingo, Pool Fun, Hayride. Tuesday: Bus trip to Lake Compounce (please sign up early), Wednesday: Bus trip to Rocky Neck State Park, Thursday: Karaoke with Charlie D. & Soundmachine, Pet Show and Contest, baking fun craft, movie and potluck social. Sign up and bring a family sized dish to share.
July 3-July 6 or July 4-July 7 Fourth of July Weekend

July 11-13 Scooby Doo, Super Hero’s and Friends join the Ships Ahoy Pirates Weekend
Ahoy There! It’s a weekend of hayrides, bingo, crafts, horseshoes, bocce ball and more. Join Scooby Doo and friends on the pirate’s hayride. Decorate your pirate hideaway site. Judges will be sailing around the campground all weekend. Friday Karaoke with Kool Kats, featuring the eye patch limbo. Our 2nd annual cardboard boat race is on and everyone can be included. It’s the pirate ship of imagination. Saturday night, DJ California Sound is here and the costume party is ready to rock the pavilion.
July 18-20 Christmas in July Weekend
Santa’s ready for all kinds of fun this weekend. Friday night holiday bingo for adults, holiday bingo for kids, teen & tween movie.
Breakfast with Santa Saturday morning right into doing a craft with the working elves of Santa Claus. DJ, California Sound spreads the holiday cheer at the pool on Saturday and then a Christmas party with hot dogs and treats and Santa has gifts too! (adults please bring a wrapped gift, with child’s name, $10.00 limit please) Join in on the hayride with Santa. Wait, there’s more! Auction of gorgeous theme Christmas trees; which are on display to benefit The Ct. Make a Wish Foundation and Saturday night, Hypnotist, Steve Wronker, is here to hypnotize you and make you laugh more than you ever have before!
July 25-27 Dr. Seuss, Cat in the Hat Karaoke Country Weekend
Sam, Sam I am, green eggs and fun. Friday night Karaoke with Kool Kats, starlight bingo and crafty fun. Saturday musical breakfast at a great price, green egg toss, potluck social, (bring a family sized dish for all to share), water balloon volley ball, kickball with Mr. B, bocce ball tournament, hayrides with the Cat in the hat and friends and more. Saturday night omelet, beef jerky and/or chili contest and country music by the Chaparrals. Youth and Teen movies and games. Fun, Fun, Fun.
Aug. 1-3 Las Vegas Casino Weekend with the Flintstones and Friends
Bam! Bingo fun Friday night. Ha, is that it? Heck no! This weekend join us on the hayrides, horseshoes, pool games, scavenger hunt, and more bingo, bounce house with Fred and friends, Casino night on pavilion for adults and bring the kids to the Flintstone and friends party. It’s a fun night of great prizes for children and adults.
Aug. 8-10 Wild Wild West and Wedding Weekend. Hey it’s WWW Weekend
Plan a wedding or have your vows renewed. (Call Recreation Director for details) Justice of the Peace on premises. Bingo, crafts, hayrides, horseshoes, Western BBQ potluck social, (sign up and bring a family sized dish for all to share) It’s a BBQ and reception for all participants ?. Karaoke with Kool Kats Friday nite, pool side bingo Saturday, Chaparrals, Saturday nite (great country, 50’s, 60’s band). All kinds of fun activities. See ya here!
Aug. 22-24 4th Annual Amazing Race AND the American Idol Camper Show Weekend
Games, crafts, bingo, hayrides, RC fun and more. Sign up in the camp store or while making your reservation for the Amazing Race and the American Idol Camper Show. Amazing Race begins at 9:30am on Saturday, August 23, 2008. American Camper Idol Show begins on Saturday, August. 23rd at 6:30pm for tots, youths, teens and adults. We have added group sing in the contest as well. Participants will get a list of instructions at time of sign up. Warm up your singing talents Friday night with Kool Kats Karaoke. Nascar Race party Aug. 23rd. Bristol Motor Speedway.

AND Entertainment Friday: Karaoke by Kool Kats, Saturday: Country Band “The Chaparrals, and Sunday: DJ, California Sound at the pool in the daytime and on the pavilion at night. Join us in our benefit fun for the CT. Make a Wish foundation. It’s our 6th year of benefit fun with our bail & jail, auction table, Staff water balloon fun and more.
Sept. 5-7 Bingo, RC, AND Maze Craze Weekend
Friday starts off fast with Bingo, bonfire and family move. Moving right into Saturday with a fun noisemaker walk through the campground or bring your bike and join us. Traveling we’ll stop and visit a fun site for some refreshments. The hayride will meet us and off we go with Donald Duck and Friends and onto the Front field for some RC fun with Mr. Gary while Mr. B and friends start up a fun kickball game and the rest of us participate in fun games on the front field. Onward to the tots maze craze and youth pines fun. Bingo starts again and features our teen and youth commercial bonanza; which they have created themselves and are preparing for their own commercial. Onward again, fun and hayrides then with our large maze craze fun hotdog roast and under the lights RC fun
AND Starlight bingo. Nascar Race Party Sept. 6, Richmond International Raceway. It’s an A Mazing Weekend!
Sept. 12-14 Halloween Thriller Weekend PART 1
Haunted House, Kids party, Halloween Maze Craze, trick or treating, Costume Pet Parade, Best decorated Guest and Seasonal Site Contest, Hayrides both Scary and Not Scary, Chopstick contest, Halloween crafts, costume contest (get instructions in camp store. This contest is for children and adults as well. Visit the Haunted House at night and move on to the Triangle of Laughs Maze Craze and entertainment by DJ, California Sound. Boooooooooooooooooooo! HEY, JOIN US FOR HALLOWEEN BREAKFAST SATURDAY MORNING WITH THE ENTERTAINING HALLOWEEN KOOL KATS! GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICE.
Sept. 19-21 Halloween Thriller Weekend PART 2
Halloween fun continues with the Haunted House, Kids party, Halloween Maze Craze, Trick or Treating, Best decorated Guest and Seasonal Site Contest, Hayrides both Scary and Not Scary, fantastic pudding contest, bobbing for apples, test your scents, trick the hands, Karaoke with Kool Kats Friday and Saturday. We’ll be waiting for you at the Haunted House and Singing with ya and dancing at the Maze Craze at the Triangle of laughs. Don’t forget to bring your lucky ticket to the Triangle of Laughs. You might be the winner of a thriller of a prize. Join us for our Halloween Entertainment Breakfast on Saturday. $ It’s a yummy, entertaining, colorful event.
Sept. 26-28 Thanksgiving Weekend
We’re cooking the turkeys for the Thanksgiving Day potluck social. Pilgrim bocce ball, pilgrim kickball with Mr. B., turkey horseshoe, crafts, hayrides, pumpkin painting, bingo, movies, bonfires and games. Turkey Scavenger hunts for kids and adults. Hey kids, help out the adults and let’s see who comes in first. Happy Thanksgiving.
Oct. 3-5 World Series Weekend
Its sports time at White Pines and we’ll meet you on the field for baseball, softball, kickball, bocce ball, fat bat ball, tot’s ball and styro ball. Games start Friday right through to Sunday. Bingo fun, hayrides, movies, Lego fun and marshmallow roasts. Bring your baseball glove if you’d like. Sport’s T-shirt tie dye craft. Bring a t-shirt to dye your favorite sports logo/name on.
Oct. 10-13 Columbus Day Weekend & 2nd Annual Columbus Boat Race
Activities, entertainment, crafts, man made cardboard boat parade on pond (we’ve got the cardboard), pet show, Yahtzee and checker fun, cozy open house in the snack house with a warm cozy fire and games with the entertaining Kool Kats of White Pines. Karaoke Saturday and Sunday night in the café hall! Nascar Race Party, October 11, Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
